GulfShip, LLC, owned by Edison Chouest Offshore has launched their newest offshore vessel at its facility in Gulfport, MS. The vessel, named Timbalier Island, is the first of a three vessel series. The Timbalier Island is 312 feet in length and includes the capacity for 243,000 gallons of fuel, over 640,000 gallons of water and 22,000 barrels of liquid mud. The boat will accommodate up to 54 crew members.
The entire Chouest fleet now includes almost 250 vessels.
GulfShip, located in the Bernard Bayou Industrial District occupies approximately 42 acres of land with a capital investment over $70 million and employs over 500 workers.
