Utilities
Affordability, reliability and excellent customer service are characteristics common to all of the utility providers in South Mississippi. The Mississippi Public Service Commission regulates the electric, gas, water and sewer utilities to assure that the rates remain reasonable and that service is adequate.
One of the top electric providers in Harrison County, Mississippi Power (MP), a Southern Company, goes above and beyond adequacy. In 2006, 2005 and several previous years, MP has earned a spot as one of Site Selection Magazine’s Top Ten Utility Companies of the Year, thanks in part to its attractive rates, “ultra-reliability” and economic development assistance.
