United States Marine, Inc. (USMI) is a full service boat manufacturer specializing in composite and aluminum high performance craft. Originally located in New Orleans, Louisiana, USMI moved to Gulfport, Mississippi in September 2005 after Hurricane Katrina destroyed their facilities.
Prior to that point, USMI employed approximately 100 people and was manufacturing 16 craft per year. Since their ribbon cutting ceremony at the Gulfport facility in January 2006, USMI has grown to over 215 personnel, increased manufacturing facility square footage by approximately 100 percent, and is delivering over 25 craft per year.
USMI has been designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting craft for Special Operations customers for over 19 years. USMI-designed craft, like the Naval Special Warfare 11 Meter Rigid Inflatable Boats (NSWRIB), 33-foot Special Operations Craft-Riverine (SOCR) boats, Riverine Assault Boats (RAB) and MK-V’s, are currently executing missions around the world. To date, USMI has delivered over 400 craft to Special Operations Forces throughout the world.
Currently, USMI is performing acceptance trials on its third 90-foot MKV Patrol Boat, whose hull and superstructure are manufactured from composite materials. The 90-foot MKV-PB(C) reaches speeds of 50 knots and provides accommodations for a crew of 12. Also on the horizon is the 2009 delivery of two 82-foot MKV SOCs, a project in which USMI has teamed with Trinity Yachts to complete the hulls for outfitting at USMI in Gulfport.
