The Innovation Center Graduates Six Companies
The Innovation Center, the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s small business incubator, recently held its 2008 Tenant Graduation. Six companies – AGJ Systems & Networks, Covington & Associates, Drace Construction, Gulf Coast Doors, Gulf Coast Modular Homes, and Stumph & Associates – celebrated their move from the facility and into the community.
The Innovation Center, formerly the Gulf Coast Business Technology Center, was developed in 1990 to provide an atmosphere that would encourage the development of small, start-up businesses and enable them to survive. The facility has since provided shared space, utilities and services for tenant businesses, graduating more than 50 companies. Walk-in consultations, seminars and various programs are also offered by The Innovation Center to foster the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the community.
Stephen Whitt, executive director of The Innovation Center, says, “We are very proud of our graduates. Our success as an incubator is reflected in their success as small businesses. We hope these companies will continue to grow and that the community will support them in their development.”
