New Industry Thriving - Trinity Yachts

Since its expansion to Gulfport in late 2005, Trinity Yachts has continued to draw attention to the Mississippi Gulf Coast through its impressive shipbuilding feats.  At the helm of its operation is John Dane III, serving as president and CEO of the organization since its founding in 1988.

Between the Gulfport location and another in New Orleans, more than 32 luxury yachts have been launched under Trinity Yachts’ vision, and another 24 are in the building phase. Three of the yachts under construction are set to launch this year, with seven more already on the drawing board for future construction. These “super yachts” vary in size, cost and amenities, and no two are alike. Each yacht is custom-designed and built to the owner’s preference and specifications, then “hand-delivered” once all construction and final details are complete.  The two most recent boat launches not only took place in Gulfport, but were also the first ships built entirely at the Gulfport location.

Together, Trinity’s two locations employ more than 700 workers.  The work environment at Trinity Yachts is guided by a steady employment capacity, and complemented by a low worker-turnover rate. The company also offers training, highly competitive wages and excellent benefit packages.

Trinity Yachts is ranked as the largest custom yacht builder in the world based on linear feet of yachts under contract by Yachts International magazine.

Harrison County recognizes the importance of having a company like Trinity Yachts that is locally owned and operated. Gulfport Mayor Brent Warr vocalized these sentiments by saying, “We are proud of Trinity and the work they are doing in Gulfport.  They bring high-tech, highly skilled labor to our community.  This speaks to the quality of our area’s workforce and to what the future holds for this ever-growing market.”
