HCDC Collateral Material Recognized at 2008 Addy Awards

Golfweek's "America's Best Course You Can Play"

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) Division of Tourism announces that five acclaimed courses in the state have been voted onto Golfweek’s “America’s Best Course You Can Play” by state for 2009.

Gulf Ship Launches New Tractor Tugs

On February 4, 2009, Gulf Ship launched four new, true tractor tugs into the Bernard Bayou Industrial Canal in Gulfport, Mississippi. Each tugboat weighs approximately 700 tons, is 110 feet in length, and takes 12 months to construct. The entire phase of construction – from design to steel cutting to launch – is done within the walls of Gulf Ship, keeping with the philosophy of parent company Edison Chouest Offshore to “design, build, own and operate” all of their boats in-house.

Gulf Coast Winter Classics…a winner for South Mississippi

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Gulf Coast Winter Classics, a six-week long horse show in Harrison County, Mississippi. And while participation at other winter horse shows has been down, show organizers Bob Bell and Janet McCarroll have said their numbers were up.
