Harrison County and the Mississippi Gulf Coast are served by a number of ports, including two deepwater ports.

  • Mississippi State Port at Gulfport
    • Deep water port, 16 miles from shipping lanes and 5 nautical miles from inter-coastal waterway
    • Intermodal access for vessel-to-vessel, vessel-to-rail, vessel-to truck transfer
    • Located in Harrison County, is a bulk, break-bulk and container seaport, encompassing 184 acres and currently under expansion. Located one and a half hours from major shipping lanes and only seven miles south of U.S. Interstate 10.
    • Port of Gulfport is undergoing a massive restoration and redevelopment project, referred to as the “Port of the Future.” $570 million has been allocated for initial development of the plans, designed by CH2M Hill.

    • Channel for barge traffic
    • Connects to Inter-coastal waterway
  • Port Bienville
    • To the west, in Hancock County
    • Shallow draft (12 feet) barge port
  • Port of Pascagoula
    • To the east, in Jackson County
